{"id":309,"date":"2020-08-01T18:54:20","date_gmt":"2020-08-01T22:54:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/star-tides.net\/?page_id=309"},"modified":"2025-08-11T14:24:17","modified_gmt":"2025-08-11T18:24:17","slug":"events","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/staging.star-tides.net\/testtest\/events\/","title":{"rendered":"Events &#038; Demos"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>STAR-TIDES Capabilities Demonstration<\/h2>\n<p>The upcoming <strong>19th Annual Capabilities Demo will take place on April 13th-14th (M-Tu), 2026 at George Mason University\u2019s &#8220;Mason Square&#8221; campus, in Arlington, Virginia, with the follow-on TIDES event inside the Pentagon on April 15th-16th.<\/strong> The theme for 2026 will be \u201c<strong>Resilience Reimagined: Empowering Local Communities in an Era of Uncertain Federal Support.\u201d <\/strong>How can state and local actors prepare, withstand, recover, and adapt better in the face of increasingly severe natural disasters as Federal funds are being cut or redirected?\u00a0 Please contact us if you\u2019re interested in being involved.<\/p>\n<p>The 18th Annual Demo was held from Apr. 13th-15th, 2025, also\u00a0at Mason Square. The theme was <strong>&#8220;Managing Forced Migration: Reducing Conflict and Improving Outcomes.&#8221;\u00a0<\/strong> The follow-on TIDES event was in the Pentagon Center Courtyard from April 16th-17th.\u00a0 Additionaldetails are on the <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.star-tides.net\/testtest\/startidestest\/events\/tech-demos-field-experiments\/2025-demo\/\">18th Annual STAR-TIDES Capabilities Demonstration<\/a> page.<\/p>\n<p>STAR-TIDES is hosted with Mason\u2019s trans-disciplinary <a href=\"https:\/\/c-rasc.gmu.edu\">Center for Resilient and Sustainable Communities (C-RASC).<\/a> C-RASC\u2019s broad scope allows resilience questions to be addressed from both technical and policy perspectives, with themes and focus areas that open exciting opportunities for a wide range of civilian and military collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>STAR-TIDES welcomes engagement with diverse stakeholders: businesses; local, state, federal and international governments, including defense and security interests; domestic and foreign academic institutions (including multiple Mason entities); philanthropic institutions; think tanks; and non-governmental organizations.
